Twelve-month administrative rank position reporting to the Dean of the Division of Science, Math and Engineering. This is a restricted position funded through December 31, 2010 (renewable annually depending upon continued funding). Work schedule varies. Duties: Responsible for the initiation and subsequent day-to-day operation of the Virginia Center for Weatherization Training. Coordinate training and curriculum development/purchase with other state agencies. Develop, implement, and supervise the weatherization training program activities at the Center and coordinate similar activities in collaboration with other community colleges in the commonwealth. Plan credit programs and market these programs in the commonwealth. Coordinate the hiring and assisting in the supervision of adjunct faculty and support personnel. Other various duties that may be necessary for the continuing function of the center. Qualifications: Master's degree in a related field. Experience in program development and implementation, working with the general public, community groups, business and industry, governmental agencies and educational institutions. Strong oral and written communication skills; demonstrated organizational, managerial and budgeting skills; demonstrated ability to plan and implement marketing strategies for educational programs; ability to supervise and work with diverse groups; ability to meet and assist the public, industry, and business personnel and compile information for statistical reports; knowledge of adult education needs. Proficient with Microsoft Office software. Preferred Qualifications: HVAC and/or engineering experience preferred. Experience in educational administration and credit/non-credit programs. The College: Located in Lynchburg, Virginia, in view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Central Virginia Community College is a comprehensive two-year institution of higher education. Approximately 4,000 students are enrolled in occupation / technical programs and university-parallel transfer programs. The college is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the Associate degree.
